Job Description

Delivery Driver The purpose of the Driver is to load, transport, and deliver food to various kitchens in a safe and sanitary way. When the Driver is not involved in the delivery of food, he/she is assigned to general tasks in the Nutrition Services Department. Ready to change the world? Responsibilities:
Transport bulk food, supplies, and other items between Nutrition Services Warehouse, production kitchens, satellite kitchens, and other sites. Loading and unloading food transport containers and bulk food. Ensure all equipment, instruments, and safety devices meet requirements and are operating properly before and after driving duty. Use discretion at all times as to speed, taking into consideration type of roads, weather conditions, traffic, and choices of gears to allow truck to operate safely and efficiently Be alert and maintain control of the vehicle to avoid accidents Assist in other kitchen duties as assigned. Prepare meals following instructions on standardized recipes. Adjust quantities of ingredients to accurately provide proper amounts of food. Portion food correctly to meet Federal, State, and Departmental guidelines. Serve customers, maintains orderly food service line, deals with or reports discipline issues. Operate various types of equipment used in food preparation or cleaning. Wash serving trays, utensils, dishes pans, etc., used in food preparation or service. Mop and clean kitchen work area, and clean other equipment and facilities as required. Assist in stocking storage areas with food and non-food supplies following the First In First Out (FIFO) procedure. Assist in taking inventory of food and non-food supplies. Accurately record food quantities on the production worksheets. Ensure all safety and sanitation guidelines and standard processes are followed by self and staff Attend training programs and workshops
Qualifications:
Strong work ethic and team player Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills Driving role required role, must be able to pass an MVR check Reliable transportation and a valid state driver's license is required Comfortability driving vehicles and cargo vans in the city and country roads Reliable transportation to/from work • Ability to lift/carry over 75lb Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary Employee must obtain ServSafe Certification within 12 months of employment. Previous experience in institutional food service field preferred. Previous truck or bus driving experience preferred.
