Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices. Plan efficient delivery routes using organizational skills to optimize time and fuel consumption. Load and unload merchandise with heavy lifting techniques, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or injury. Deliver products to retail stores, clients' locations, or distribution centers while maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude. Communicate clearly with customers regarding delivery times, product details, and any potential delays or issues. Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales skills to enhance customer satisfaction and company revenue. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and route documentation in compliance with company policies. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after routes to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance needs promptly. Build strong customer relationships through friendly interaction, reliable service, and attentive communication. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and DOT regulations during route driving to ensure safety for yourself and others. Experience Prior experience in commercial truck driving or automobile transportation is highly preferred. Retail store experience is advantageous for understanding product placement and merchandising principles. Demonstrated ability in customer service roles with excellent communication skills. Basic math skills for handling pricing calculations, inventory counts, and route planning. Familiarity with sales techniques such as upselling to maximize client engagement. Knowledge of route driving best practices along with organizational skills for efficient scheduling. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physical stamina is essential. Understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation is a plus but training will be provided if needed.
