Job Description

T he primary mission of the Driver is to insure that Fish King's products are properly packaged, loaded and delivered to our customers in a safe, timely and courteous manner. This mission is accomplished primarily by performing the essential duties and responsibilities listed below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loading and Pre-delivery Check the amount of gasoline in the vehicle and take necessary steps to insure enough fuel exists to complete the assigned delivery route. Confirm that the assigned vehicle is in fine working order and routine maintenance has been performed on the vehicle with the Plant and Equipment Manager. (e.g. tires, oil level, wipers, etc.) Pre-cool vehicle to temperature at or below 45 degrees F prior to loading of products. Load products in a manner which maximizes unloading efficiency and minimizes product damage due to shifting. Confirm delivery route and any restrictions or special placement of product location requests from customers. Obtain corresponding invoices and cellular phone as well as other administrative matters to be addressed with customer accounts. Deliveries Follow the Safe Driving Policy. Complete a driver log for each delivery run, including the time of arrival at each delivery stop. Lock all vehicle doors while delivering product to prevent theft. Take temperature of vehicle's refrigeration unit a minimum of three times during the delivery and note in the driver log. Deliver products to customers with consideration to restrictions, placement requests or other requests. Individually confirm that each item listed on the invoice is in fact, delivered, by placing a check-mark next to each line item on the invoice (office copy) after physical confirmation of that item for product type and weight. A customer inspection does not satisfy this requirement. The driver is responsible for confirming the delivery of product. Call to confirm with a Fish King Manager prior to accepting any returned items and/or issuing credits. Prepare credit memos for returned items accurately and completely. Pick-up any empty Company containers and returned products. Report any material delivery delays, problems and customer comments/complaints to supervisor. Post-delivery Check-in all invoices, credit memos, returned products, driver log and other documents as well as checks and cash/coins from customers with a supervisor Wash and clean the inside and outside of the vehicle. Report any mechanical problems or physical damage to vehicle to Plant and Equipment Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related training and experience.
  • Valid California driver's license
  • Driving record free from moving violations for one year
  • Ability to read and write instructions, short correspondence and memos.
