Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards. Plan efficient routes for timely delivery, utilizing organizational skills and route driving knowledge. Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks. Engage with customers professionally to confirm deliveries, answer questions, and build strong client relationships. Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, demonstrating sales skills and product knowledge. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records for accountability. Follow merchandising guidelines to ensure products are presented attractively upon delivery. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving or automobile transportation, with a valid driver's license suitable for the vehicle type. Familiarity with DOT regulations and safe driving practices is essential. Prior retail store experience or customer service background is highly desirable to enhance client relationship building skills. Basic math skills for pricing calculations, measurements, and inventory management. Experience in sales or upselling techniques to maximize revenue opportunities during deliveries. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices. Strong communication skills for effective client communication and team coordination.
