This individual works closely with the warehouse and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials to client job sites.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate box trucks and flatbeds to deliver commercial equipment to customer sites; vehicles will also be used for pickups and will-calls. Safely load and unload truck using appropriate tools and lifting techniques Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery documents for all shipments. Adapt to changing schedules and working overtime (including weekends) as needed to support business demands. Plan efficient delivery routes to minimize driving time and fuel costs. Communicate proactively with Warehouse Manager, project teams, and delivery sites regarding delivery status or delays. Assist with general warehouse duties including receiving and staging outbound shipments. Ensure vehicles and equipment are kept in clean, working conditions. Support inventory organization, labeling, and stock rotation within the warehouse. Participate in cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory audits. Inspecting incoming deliveries for damage; report discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager Assist with preparing outbound shipments including packing, labeling, and BOL documentation. Process receiving and fulfillment operations in NetSuite as directed. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Complete required safety training including forklift/pallet jack certification and DOT regulations if applicable. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report maintenance needs promptly. Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, weight restrictions, and load-securement regulations. Develop a working knowledge of commercial foodservice equipment categories relevant to Avanti's business. Participate in company training sessions and lunch-and-learns to expand product and operations knowledge. Seek opportunities to cross-train in warehouse functions to support team flexibility and career development. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to operate box trucks and flatbed vehicles. Ability to safely lift to 75 pounds; team lift required for items exceeding 100 pounds. Strong attention to detail for delivery documentation and damage reporting Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing schedules including early mornings and weekends. Professional customer-facing demeanor and communication skills Basic warehouse skills: receiving, staging, labelling, and inventory support. High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in a delivery, warehouse, or skilled trades environment preferred. Willingness to complete apprenticeship program requirements and obtain relevant certifications (forklift, DOT) required. Preferred Qualifications Prior delivery driver or warehouse experience Forklift or pallet jack certification. NetSuite or warehouse management system experience Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment or food service industry
