This is a hands-on position that includes making local deliveries as well as assisting with daily store and warehouse operations when not driving. Duties include helping customers, preparing and loading orders, stocking and organizing merchandise, and assisting with sales as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate delivery vehicles including pickup trucks and flatbed trucks, following applicable traffic laws, company safety procedures and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload lumber, plywood, hardware and other building materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed Deliver lumber and supplies to customer locations or job sites, in a safe, courteous, timely matter. Providing excellent customer service. Verify delivery orders for accuracy and damage and complete required delivery paperwork. Assist with warehouse and store operations when not driving, including pulling orders, stocking and organizing inventory, putting merchandise away, and loading customers. Assist customers and with sales as needed Maintain a clean and safe work environment Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or safety concerns to ensure smooth operations. Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in warehouse operations, material handling, delivery driving, lumber, hardware, or building materials is highly preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to safely operate pickup trucks and flatbed trucks; prior experience with these vehicles is a plus. Knowledge of safe driving practices, route navigation, and applicable traffic regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with customers, coworkers, and management. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals. Ability to use basic math accurately, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and basic measurements.
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
