Duties Safely operate commercial trucks and automobiles to deliver goods across designated military bases, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols. Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals while managing unforeseen challenges with organizational skills. Load and unload cargo using proper lifting practices, including heavy lifting techniques, to prevent injury and damage. Build positive relationships with military personnel and base staff through professional client communication and excellent customer service. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel use, and adhere to safe lifting practices during loading/unloading processes. Upsell or recommend additional products or services when appropriate, utilizing sales skills to enhance client satisfaction. Maintain detailed records of deliveries, route documentation, pricing adjustments, and compliance with DOT regulations. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving or automobile transportation within retail or similar environments. Strong knowledge of route driving, merchandising, pricing strategies, and upselling techniques. Excellent math skills for accurate measurement, calculations related to weight limits, fuel consumption, and pricing adjustments. Exceptional communication skills for clear client communication and effective coordination with team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physically capable of handling demanding loads. Familiarity with DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operation on military bases; commitment to safety standards. Customer relationship building skills to foster trust and professionalism with military clients. Organizational skills for managing delivery schedules, route planning, documentation accuracy, and inventory control.
