Delivery Driver

Position Summary Redd Iron Inc. is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Delivery Driver to transport fabricated structural and miscellaneous steel products to commercial job sites throughout the Denver metro area and surrounding regions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining project schedules by ensuring accurate, timely, and damage-free deliveries while representing Redd Iron professionally on job sites. Key Responsibilities Delivery & Transportation Safely operate company vehicles including flatbeds and trailers. Transport structural steel, beams, columns, stairs, rails, embeds, and miscellaneous steel. Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and tarping systems in compliance with DOT regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation. Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and delivery tickets. Coordinate delivery timing with Project Managers, Shop Foreman, and General Contractors. Loading & Material Handling Assist with loading and unloading steel using: Overhead cranes Forklifts Telehandlers (when required) Verify materials against packing lists and shop drawings prior to departure. Inspect loads for accuracy and quality before leaving the shop. Ensure proper weight distribution and load security. Safety & Compliance Follow all DOT regulations and Redd Iron safety policies. Maintain a clean driving record. Adhere to OSHA standards when on job sites. Wear required PPE (hard hat, vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots). Report vehicle maintenance needs promptly. Customer & Job Site Interaction Communicate professionally with: General Contractors Superintendents Crane operators Site personnel Represent Redd Iron with professionalism and strong customer service. Obtain required delivery signatures and confirm receipt of materials. Qualifications Valid Colorado Driver's License (CDL required). Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience preferred. Experience hauling construction materials or steel preferred. Forklift experience required. Ability to read delivery tickets and basic shop drawings. Ability to work early mornings and occasionally overtime. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Frequent climbing in and out of trucks and trailers. Securing loads with chains and binders. Working outdoors in all weather conditions. Standing, bending, and walking on uneven job site terrain. Work Environment Industrial steel fabrication shop. Active commercial construction job sites. Outdoor conditions including heat, cold, snow, and wind. Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Skills CDL Class A or B DOT medical card Experience with load securement for structural steel Knowledge of Denver metro delivery routes Experience with telehandler or crane signaling .
