Full-Time Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Lumber Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering lumber and other building materials to residential, commercial, and job site locations in a timely and professional manner. You will represent our company on the road and at customer sites, ensuring excellent customer service and safe handling of all products.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a flatbed truck, box truck, or other delivery vehicle to transport lumber and building materials. Load and unload materials using proper lifting techniques and equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, straps, tarps). Verify delivery instructions and confirm orders with dispatch before departure. Inspect materials for quality and accuracy before loading. Maintain accurate delivery logs, invoices, and required documentation. Communicate professionally with customers, answering basic questions and confirming delivery placement. Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies. Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on delivery vehicles. Assist in the yard or warehouse as needed (stacking, organizing, or preparing orders).
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license Clean driving record. 1+ years of experience in delivery driving, preferably with building materials or heavy loads. Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. and work in various weather conditions. Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication and customer service skills.
Work Environment:
Outdoor and on-the-road work in varying weather conditions. Frequent lifting, bending, and climbing on/off trucks. Interaction with construction professionals, homeowners, and yard staff.
