Job Description

Our drivers help students get to school, Corporate Work Study Program placements, activities, events, and other opportunities that are part of their education and future. We're looking for reliable, safety-focused, professional Part-Time Drivers who understand the responsibility that comes with transporting students and who want their work to have a meaningful impact. If you're dependable, calm behind the wheel, serious about safety, and enjoy being part of a mission-driven team, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Safely transport students and other authorized passengers to and from school, Corporate Work Study Program placements, activities, events, and other approved destinations. Follow assigned routes, schedules, pickup and drop-off procedures. Operate only School-authorized vehicles for which you are properly licensed, qualified, trained, and authorized. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Perform an end-of-route check after every trip to make sure no student or passenger remains in the vehicle. Maintain active supervision and professional conduct while students enter, ride in, and exit the vehicle. Ensure passengers follow seat-belt, loading, unloading, conduct, and vehicle-safety requirements. Immediately report accidents, injuries, traffic citations, vehicle incidents, student-safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, or other emergencies in accordance with School procedures. Maintain accurate route, mileage, inspection, incident, and timekeeping records. Keep vehicles clean and promptly report fuel, maintenance, repair, or safety concerns. Protect confidential student, family, employee, route, and School information. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students. Participate in required driver-safety training, meetings, emergency drills, and other School-required training. Required Qualifications To be considered for this position, applicants must have: A valid driver's license. A current and active Miami-Dade County Chauffeur Registration. A driving record that meets School and applicable insurance requirements. Ability to successfully complete and maintain all required background screening, fingerprinting, drug testing, training, and other requirements applicable to the position and student contact. Ability to safely operate the School vehicles assigned to the position. Ability to read and understand routes, schedules, safety instructions, traffic signs, and School procedures. Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Bilingual communication skills:
English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole. Experience We Value Previous experience in any of the following is preferred: Student transportation School transportation Shuttle driving Passenger transportation Professional driving Similar transportation roles A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The Environment This position involves local driving throughout the Miami Dade & Broward area and work primarily in and around motor vehicles.Drivers must be able to:
Sit and operate a vehicle for extended periods. Enter and exit the assigned vehicle repeatedly during a shift. Visually and audibly monitor traffic, students, vehicle conditions, and surrounding hazards. Perform routine vehicle-safety inspections.
