PICKUP AND DELIVERY DRIVER
Job Objective:
Work with the parts sales and parts pulling team to provide the best parts delivery service in the Southeast. Safely and efficiently drive company vehicles, pick up and deliver parts, and represent the company in a professional manner.
Reports to:
Assistant Parts Manager Core tasks for which this job is responsible: Parts Pickup and Delivery Drivers may be assigned to either local or long-distance routes, or a combination of both, at the discretion of the department management based on customer demand.
Daily:
Greet and treat each customer and vendor with whom you come in contact in a professional, friendly manner. Pick up and deliver parts in the dealership's assigned area quickly, safely, and efficiently per dispatch instructions. Work as part of an integrated team with parts salespeople, parts pullers, fellow delivery drivers, and management.
When assigned to local routes:
Retrieve parts and accompanying invoices from the local delivery shelves. Check in with Outside Parts Sales (OPS) prior to departing on each delivery run. Check the OPS printer and invoice sorting area for pick tickets/parts that may need to be pulled for customers on your route. Update local delivery whiteboard with destinations and departure time. When assigned to long distance routes: Coordinate with OPS to pull parts from pick tickets or invoices. Coordinate with local delivery drivers if returning to the dealership before close of business to assist with any remaining local deliveries. Load or unload delivery vehicles. Keep delivery vehicles clean, as well as report any mechanical or safety issues to the assistant manager. Process returned parts and cores appropriately upon returning to the dealership.

Perform vehicle inspection and turn in inspection forms to the

Occasionally pull parts from warehouse locations for delivery if marked on pick tickets or invoices. Any other duties required to successfully accomplish the role of Delivery Driver or needs of the department. Special tasks for which this job is responsible: Special projects on an as needed basis. Decision authority needed to accomplish objective: Determine the safeness of roads and highways in order to make the best decisions regarding drivability. Determine the safeness of company vehicles and make safe decisions pertaining to drivability.
