Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Overnight Delivery Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods during nighttime hours, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to our customers in the Indianapolis area. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will help us maintain exceptional service standards while adhering to all traffic and workplace regulations. Duties Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans, during overnight shifts to deliver product across designated routes. Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques, lift gates, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices. Follow established routes using mobile devices for navigation, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements. Conduct vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any maintenance issues promptly. Provide exceptional customer service by delivering products directly to customers' bakeries with professionalism and courtesy. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmation records throughout each shift. Assist in warehouse operations when needed, including moving inventory or organizing shipments for efficient dispatching. Experience Prior experience in delivery driving or courier services is highly preferred; familiarity with grocery delivery is a plus. Hands-on experience operating commercial trucks, box trucks, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is advantageous. Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and safe lifting practices is essential. Demonstrated ability to adhere strictly to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety protocols during all driving activities. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members. Experience with route driving using mobile devices or GPS systems to optimize delivery efficiency.
