Part-Time / Flexible About the Position We are hiring a dependable and safety-minded Part-Time Class A CDL Driver to support our local Lowe's delivery operation in the Covington / Slidell, Louisiana area . This is a flexible part-time position supporting our regular delivery driver. Duties include assisting with loading, unloading, securing loads, operating a Moffett forklift, and delivering building materials . When the regular driver is off, on vacation, or unavailable, you may be assigned to operate the Class A tractor-trailer and Moffett forklift and complete the delivery route. Driving days are based on business needs and are not guaranteed each week. Applicants must be comfortable assisting with all aspects of the delivery operation when not assigned to drive. Responsibilities Support the primary driver with local delivery operations. Strap, secure, and unsecure flatbed loads. Assist with loading and unloading building materials. Operate a Moffett forklift when qualified and assigned. Assist with positioning materials at customer delivery locations. Drive the Class A tractor-trailer when relief coverage is needed. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections when driving. Follow DOT regulations and company safety procedures. Maintain accurate delivery paperwork. Communicate professionally with customers and Lowe's personnel. Help keep the truck, trailer, Moffett, and equipment clean and safe. Perform other delivery-related duties as needed. When You Will Drive You may be assigned a full driving shift when the regular driver: Is off work Is on vacation Has a scheduled day off Is unavailable Needs additional operational coverage Some weeks may include full driving shifts, while other weeks may primarily involve supporting the regular driver with deliveries and material handling. This position does not guarantee a set number of driving days or hours each week. Flexibility is required. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL Current DOT Medical Card Acceptable driving record Previous tractor-trailer experience Flatbed experience preferred Moffett experience strongly preferred Experience securing flatbed loads with straps preferred Ability to perform physical delivery work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and material handling Dependable and safety-conscious Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions Able to work effectively as part of a two-person delivery team Available for a flexible part-time schedule Ideal Candidate This position is ideal for an experienced Class A CDL driver looking for flexible, part-time work who is also willing to assist with deliveries, load securement, and material handling when not assigned to drive.
