A Sales Delivery Driver drives a truck or other vehicle over established routes or within an established territory and sells or delivers goods, such as food products, including restaurant take-out items, or pick up or deliver items such as commercial laundry. May also take orders, collect payment, or stock merchandise at point of delivery. Includes newspaper delivery drivers. Excludes gig economy drivers.
The Driver/System Operator (DSO) is responsible for performing aviation and ground fuel servicing operations using mobile refueling equipment and fixed fuel distribution systems. The DSO ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant refueling and defueling of aircraft and support equipment while adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, quality, and operational procedures. DSOs play a critical role in supporting flight operations, fuel accountability, and mission readiness.
Duties:
Perform aircraft refueling and defueling operations using mobile fuel servicing vehicles and fixed fuel systems. Operate fuel trucks, refuelers, and associated equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct pre-operational inspections and ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe, serviceable condition. Perform hot and cold fueling operations as assigned. Serve as a hot refueling pit operator, deadman control operator, nozzle operator, or fire watch when required. Receive, issue, transfer, and account for fuel products in accordance with established procedures. Complete required fuel service documentation, logs, forms, and electronic data collection records. Maintain communication with dispatch personnel and follow approved radio communication procedures. Conduct fuel quality surveillance activities, including visual sampling and inspections. Respond to fuel spills and emergencies in accordance with safety and environmental plans. Support after-hours, contingency, and surge operations as required. Follow all Federal, State, DoD, DLA Energy, and installation regulations governing fuel operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tank Vehicle and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsements. Ability to obtain and maintain installation/base access credentials. Successful completion of fuel servicing, flight-line familiarization, equipment operation, and competency testing. Knowledge of aviation and ground fuel servicing operations, fuel quality control, safety procedures, and environmental compliance requirements. Ability to safely operate fuel servicing vehicles, refueling equipment, and associated systems on airfields and public roadways. Working knowledge of radio communications, dispatch procedures, and flight-line operations. Ability to read, understand, and follow technical manuals, operating procedures, regulations, and safety instructions. Basic computer skills and proficiency in completing electronic forms, fuel records, and operational documentation. Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to fuel inventories, measurements, and accountability. Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and perform the physical demands of fuel servicing operations. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-outs as required.
