Medical Courier / Delivery Specialist Job Summary Apex Medical Logistics is seeking dependable, professional Medical Courier/Delivery Specialists to serve healthcare clients throughout Metro Detroit. This position is responsible for the secure, timely transportation of medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, supplies, records and other healthcare-related materials. Drivers operate an Apex company vehicle and represent the company at hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, clinics and other medical facilities. The ideal candidate is punctual, safety-focused, detail-oriented and committed to delivering exceptional service during every pickup and delivery.

Detroit and surrounding communities Responsibilities Complete scheduled routes and time-sensitive STAT deliveries using an Apex company vehicle Pick up and deliver medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, supplies, documents and related materials Maintain accurate chain-of-custody records and obtain all required delivery confirmations Use Apex's mobile dispatch and tracking systems to receive assignments and document pickups and deliveries Follow HIPAA, OSHA, bloodborne-pathogen, Category B and company safety procedures Protect confidential information and maintain the security and integrity of all transported items Inspect the assigned vehicle before and after each shift Keep the vehicle clean, organized, fueled and ready for service Immediately report delays, incidents, temperature concerns or delivery discrepancies Communicate professionally with dispatchers, healthcare staff, customers and patients Wear the required Apex uniform and identification badge during every shift Assist with staging supplies, organizing equipment and other operational duties when required Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Dependable transportation to and from the assigned Apex location Ability to pass a background check, motor-vehicle-record review and any required drug screening Strong punctuality, attendance and route-management skills Professional communication and customer-service abilities Ability to use a smartphone, GPS navigation and mobile delivery applications Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow detailed written procedures Ability to safely lift and carry packages weighing up to 40 pounds Willingness to work scheduled routes that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays Previous courier, delivery, healthcare, pharmacy, laboratory or logistics experience is preferred but not required CDL, manual-transmission experience and personal delivery vehicle are not required Training Apex provides position-specific onboarding and compliance training, including: HIPAA and patient confidentiality OSHA and bloodborne-pathogen safety Category B specimen-handling procedures Chain of custody and delivery documentation Spill-response procedures Safe driving and vehicle inspection Customer-service and healthcare-facility protocols Drivers receive annual compliance training and recertification through Integrity.
