Job Description

Overview The Delivery Specialist directly supports the pantry by packing, loading, and delivering pantry groceries to clients, per current Aid in Milan delivery programs. Prompt professionalism is given at each stop, and courteous and safe driving and parking are expected. Job Responsibilities ? In coordination with the Pantry Manager, load the van with appropriate orders, ensuring that bags are secure and orders stay together. ? Travel to delivery destinations per written Delivery Schedule, provided by Pantry Manager. ? Log miles daily. ? Pick up food and other donations from donor organizations. ? Maintain (two) Aid in Milan vans by ensuring they are clean, filled with gas, oil changes performed on a timely basis, air in tires maintained at an appropriate level, correct documentation is kept in the vehicles, and other vehicle maintenance as needed. ? Inform Executive Director of other vehicle maintenance as is required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities ? Ability to present a professional appearance to the community including appearance of Aid in Milan vehicles. ? Ability to protect client and volunteer confidentiality (information and communications). ? Ability to lift groceries in and out of vans, and up stairs. ? Ability to organize and maintain deliveries in a logical order. ? Self-motivated and able to motivate others. ? Ability to provide supervision and direction to volunteers. ? Excellent organizational skills. Education and Experience Requirements ? High School Diploma or equivalent. Licenses and Certifications This position requires possession of a valid Michigan driver's license to travel within the Milan area, Washtenaw, and Monroe Counties. Travel may occasionally occur outside of these counties. The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Other combinations of education and experience that could provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job shall be considered. Physical Demands and Work Environment Duties require lifting to 50 pounds for moving supplies used in services. Expected Work Schedule The Delivery Specialist will maintain an average of 10-12 total hours per week. Schedule can be flexible but is generally during weekdays.
