Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Local Box Truck Driver, specializing in Amazon delivery routes. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver packages efficiently and reliably to customers within your designated area. Your focus will be on providing exceptional customer service, adhering to traffic and safety regulations, and ensuring timely deliveries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be an essential part of the last-mile delivery process, helping to connect communities and bring smiles to our customers' faces. Duties Safely operate a box truck on designated Amazon delivery routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, adhering to safe lifting practices. Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures when required, and update delivery status using mobile devices or handheld scanners. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety. Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, traffic laws, and company policies during route driving. Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with recipients and addressing any delivery concerns. Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, load & unload activities, and route documentation for compliance purposes. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations, commercial driving, or delivery driving with a focus on box trucks or similar vehicles. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent preferred but not mandatory. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely; familiarity with heavy lifting techniques is a plus. Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, weight handling in the workplace, and safe lifting practices. Comfortable operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks; experience with courier or load & unload processes is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Physical stamina for moving packages frequently throughout shifts; ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
