Responsibilities Safely operate various types of vehicles, including automobiles and commercial trucks, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals while managing multiple stops throughout the day. Load and unload merchandise carefully, employing heavy lifting techniques when necessary to prevent injury. Interact with customers professionally, providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and upselling additional products or services when appropriate. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including pricing details, invoices, and route logs. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly. Follow merchandising standards by organizing deliveries neatly and ensuring proper product placement at each stop. Skills Proven experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of route driving and traffic regulations. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with customers and team members. Strong math skills for calculating pricing, change, and delivery totals accurately. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to automobile transportation and safety protocols. Class D License preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices. Sales aptitude with a knack for upselling products or services confidently without being pushy. Organizational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently and keep detailed records.
