Non-Exempt Position Summary:
The Delivery and Service Technician is responsible for the safe and timely delivery, setup, and maintenance of durable medical equipment (DME) for patients and healthcare facilities. This role involves ensuring that all equipment is delivered in excellent working conditions, providing training to patients and caregivers on the proper use of equipment, and performing maintenance or repairs as needed. The Delivery and Service Technician play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and satisfaction while supporting the operational efficiency of the company.Key Responsibilities:
Delivery and Setup:
- Safely deliver DME products to patients' homes or healthcare facilities, ensuring that all items are handled with care and arrive in good condition.
- Set up and install equipment according to manufacturer instructions and company protocols, ensuring that it is fully operational and safe for use.
- Provide patients and caregivers with clear instructions on the proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment, ensuring they feel confident and comfortable with the device.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working condition.
- Diagnose and repair any issues with equipment in the field or at the warehouse, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed, including any parts used or equipment replaced.
Customer Service and Patient Support/:
- Respond to service calls and provide timely support to patients experiencing issues with their equipment.
- Participate in the on-call schedule to address after normal business hour patient service and support needs
- Demonstrate professionalism and empathy in all interactions with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, ensuring a positive experience.
- Address and resolve any concerns or complaints from patients regarding the delivery, setup, or functionality of their equipment.
Front Office Support/:
- Assist Office Manager and Patient Care Coordinator with any in-office jobs that need completed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all deliveries, setups, and maintenance activities comply with company safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and DME-specific regulations.
- Conduct safety checks on equipment before and after delivery, ensuring that all devices meet safety and quality standards.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions and adhere to all safety guidelines while on the job.
Inventory and Documentation:
- Assist with inventory management by tracking equipment usage, returns, and maintenance needs.
- Complete and submit all required documentation accurately and on time, including delivery logs, maintenance records, and customer feedback forms.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager or Operations Supervisor.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Maintain the company vehicle assigned for deliveries, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained, and in good working condition.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any issues that require repair or attention.
- Ensure that all deliveries are carried out efficiently, following the most direct and time-effective routes.
