Under direct supervision of the District Manager, the Route Driver - Jumper will ensure an effective management and control of all activities associated with the service of each customer for the route they are assigned on a given day. They are expected to "jump in" and cover routes in place of another driver. Provide first quality service to each customer while maintaining optimum levels of revenue and assuring that customer retention and customer expansion are in line with defined Sales and Service goals and objectives on an individual and collective basis. Responsible for ensuring each customer receives the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time, at the right price and right lease/rental terms through aggressive route and account planning, execution, monitoring and follow-up. Develop a close positive relationship with each assigned customer. Work with the Route Manager assigned to that route to ensure no interruptions of service. Maintain a safe work environment and practice traffic safety at all times. Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) aligned with Company policy and insurance carrier guidelines. Ensure policies and procedures are followed in all areas of responsibility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Dedicate adequate time and effort to become familiar with all routes. Particular attention must be given to the type of route, business needs, the pattern and scope of product usage together with optimum circulating inventory levels, demands, service agreement status, points of delivery and storage and payment status. Prior to daily departure, check and validate all customer orders, ensure all special orders are correctly assigned and all paperwork is prepared for the day's deliveries. Trucks should be checked according to DOT regulations (pre-trip inspections) to make certain it is roadworthy and the load is secure. Each daily route will be completed in such a manner as to make certain that customer requirements are continually met on a timely basis. Ensure the primary customer contact is seen and spoken with at least once per month in order to nurture the correct rapport for ongoing business and account development. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Will be required to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. frequently and repetitively throughout the day, stand and walk frequently throughout the day, bending, continuous use of hands and arms for handling, and reaching and moving product.
