SUMMARY :
Delivering products to and from customers in a safe, courteous and timely manner. The delivery route will consist of stops in New Jersey as well as the rest of the tri-state area. Drivers will return to the base and their homes each day.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Plan trip logistics and obtain necessary documents to transport goods Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of all full and empty cylinders Secure materials on vehicles and ensure the truck is properly loaded and compliant with safety requirements Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle Perform all deliveries while following all vehicle state laws and driving in a safe manner Periodically perform load checks through the course of the day to ensure that the load is secure and make adjustments as necessary Follow safety procedures for transporting hazardous materials Manage bills of lading and log books Report any and all incidents to the dispatcher/management team Report any missing permits, paperwork, and gas card to the dispatcher/management team Report serious mechanical problems to the manager Relay all customer concerns to management Fill vehicles with gas or diesel Keep truck and equipment tidy and in good working condition Perform other related duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior commercial driving experience Valid CDL Class A or B designation Required Valid Medical Card Valid Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements Clean Driver's Abstract Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals Use basic math accurately to add and subtract Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
