Delicious New Mexico (Delicious NM) is a distribution and retail support initiative launched in 2020 to help local food businesses overcome barriers to scale and reach new markets. It supports producers by providing essential logistics, retail fulfillment, and technical assistance—bridging the gap between small producers and institutional buyers.Position Overview:
The Delicious New Mexico Driver works in collaboration with RGCDC's team to perform Delicious NM's programs day-to-day activities including distribution, logistics and driving, warehouse operations, and retail fulfillment. We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Delivery Driver to join our team. This person will help move local food products from our warehouse to retail and institutional customers throughout New Mexico. This is not just a driving job — we're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to supporting New Mexico's food economy.Responsibilities:
The Delicious New Mexico Driver reports to the Delicious NM Program Director. The goal of this position is to coordinate the day to day functions to ensure Delicious NM's distribution goals are met. Primary responsibilities, in addition to any other support services as deemed fit for the position:- Operate company cargo vans and small box trucks to complete daily delivery routes
- Load and unload products safely and efficiently
- Follow all required food safety and handling guidelines (e.g., product temperature logs)
- Ensure accurate and on-time deliveries to clients and retail locations
- Maintain delivery records and complete route documentation
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report maintenance needs
- Support basic warehouse functions, including receiving shipments and organizing inventory
- Assist with order fulfillment for online and retail orders as needed
- Communicate professionally with clients, customers, and team members
- Follow all RGCDC safety policies and procedures
- Oversee warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving; inventory management and forecast; accurate inventory controls and safe operations of forklift and pallet jack.
- Maintain all database software including inventory, product forms and specs, client CRM and E-commerce
- With the guidance of the Delicious NM Director, maintain compliance with regulatory bodies, including but not limited to Department of Transportation, Environment Health Department, Food and Drug Administration, and RGCDC's legal department
- Other tasks as mutually agreed but deemed necessary for the well-being of the organization.
Skills and core attributes:

- Previous delivery driver experience
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License and proof of insurance
- CDL not required
- No more than 1 moving violations on MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) within the past 5 years
- Must pass a motor vehicle check, background check, and drug/alcohol screening (Since this job requires driving, it is considered a safety sensitive position which means that medical and recreational marijuana are not considered exemptions to our drug testing program)
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use a smartphone, GPS, and route tracking apps ---
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift experience or willing to obtain forklift certification within 60 days
- Familiarity with inventory and delivery software (e.g., POS, CRM, E-commerce tools)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Customer service or hospitality experience
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Primarily daytime hours with occasional early mornings or weekend work
- In-state travel (day trips) required; some routes may involve long days
- Position involves standing, lifting, and driving for extended periods
Commitment:
Compensation ranges between $19.00 to $21.42 hourly compensation depending on experience.
