Description About VP Supply Corp VP Supply Corp is a leading distributor of plumbing, HVAC, industrial, and electrical supplies. With 60 years of experience and multiple locations across New York and Pennsylvania, we are committed to providing exceptional service, quality products, and reliable delivery to our customers and branch locations. Our high-volume CDC (Central Distribution Center) serves as the backbone of product movement throughout our branch network, consolidating inventory replenishment, accelerating product flow, and driving operational efficiency. The CDC helps ensure product moves accurately and efficiently between locations, supporting consistent product availability and allowing our branches to provide outstanding service to our customers. Position Overview VP Supply Corp is seeking to hire an Overnight CDC Delivery Driver based out of our Albany, NY branch . This position will support our CDC overnight delivery operation by completing product deliveries between our different branch locations. The Delivery Driver will report to the Albany branch at approximately 1:00 AM and meet the CDC driver arriving from our Central Distribution Center. From there, this position will take over the remaining portion of the overnight route, transporting and delivering product to designated VP Supply Corp branch locations. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience driving a 26-foot box truck or similar vehicle , a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently during overnight hours. No CDL is required for this position. Responsibilities Report to the Albany branch at approximately 1:00 AM to meet the incoming CDC delivery driver and take over the remaining overnight delivery route. Safely operate a 26-foot box truck to transport product between designated VP Supply Corp branch locations. Complete scheduled overnight deliveries accurately and within established delivery timeframes. Load, unload, and properly secure product for transportation. Move skids and other materials using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and lift gates. Complete and maintain required delivery documentation, including inter-branch transfers, truck logs, and other nightly paperwork. Communicate with the Dispatcher throughout the shift regarding delivery status, arrival times, delays, and other route updates. Capture delivery photos and other required documentation at branch locations. Perform routine vehicle inspections and promptly communicate any maintenance, repair, or safety concerns. Ensure the truck cab and cargo area are emptied, organized, and cleaned at the end of each shift. Follow all company policies, DOT requirements, traffic laws, and established safety procedures. Maintain a high level of reliability and independence while working overnight with limited supervision.
Requirements Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience driving a 26-foot box truck or similar commercial vehicle preferred. No CDL required. Previous delivery, distribution, warehouse, or transportation experience preferred. Experience using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and lift gates. Familiarity with Albany and surrounding areas is preferred. Ability to safely load, unload, move, and secure product. Ability to climb on and off the back of a truck using side steps and safely perform the physical functions of the position. Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and stay on schedule during overnight hours. Must be dependable and comfortable working an overnight schedule beginning at approximately 1:00 AM. Must be able to successfully complete a motor vehicle record and background check. Must have reliable transportation to and from the Albany branch.
