Job Description

QCI is seeking an experienced CDL Class A driver to join our construction team on a part-time basis. This is a local driving position involving a combination of material hauling with tri-axle trucks and transporting construction equipment to and from jobsites using a 20-ton equipment trailer. We are looking for an experienced, dependable driver who is comfortable operating manual-transmission commercial trucks and working around active construction sites. Responsibilities Operate manual-transmission tri-axle trucks Haul construction materials to and from jobsites Transport construction equipment using a 20-ton trailer Safely secure equipment and loads for transport Pick up and deliver equipment between our yard and active jobsites Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Maintain accurate delivery, material and trucking tickets Communicate with project managers, foremen and field crews regarding deliveries and equipment moves Maintain a clean and safe truck Follow DOT, company and jobsite safety requirements Qualifications Valid CDL Class A required Must be qualified and experienced operating manual-transmission commercial vehicles Experience driving tri-axle trucks required/preferred Experience hauling construction or heavy equipment strongly preferred Experience with equipment trailers, load securement and construction jobsites Current DOT medical certification Acceptable motor vehicle record Ability to pass all required DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements Dependable, punctual and safety-minded Able to work independently and coordinate with multiple jobsites and crews Schedule Part-time, primarily daytime/local work. Schedule can offer flexibility for the right experienced driver. This position may be especially well suited for an experienced driver looking for steady local work without over-the-road travel. Home every day — no overnight or OTR routes. Compensation $30-$35/hour, depending on experience Experience hauling heavy equipment and operating manual-transmission tri-axles will be given strong consideration. About the Position This is not an over-the-road trucking position. Our drivers work directly with our construction crews, hauling material and moving equipment between our yard, suppliers and jobsites. We are looking for someone who takes care of the equipment, understands the demands of construction work, and can be trusted to safely get a truck, trailer and equipment where it needs to go.
Pay:
$29.00 - $35.00 per hour
