Primary Purpose:
Responsible for receiving, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, food and supplies.
Duties include maintenance of routine records, packaging items, custodial tasks, rearranging storage space, and participating in weekly inventories. Maintains high standards of proper handling, storing and transporting of food to maintain safe, sanitary and high quality food.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Excellent driving record
Food handlers license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Organizational skills Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
Ability to do sustained lifting of up to 50 pounds
Valid Texas driver's license
Knowledge of the handling, storage and issuing of various kinds and grades of perishables, supplies, materials, and equipment
Experience:
Minimum of 3 months store keeping and inventory work preferred
Technology and Information Management
1. Receive and unpack incoming food materials and supplies; checks delivery receipts with purchase orders; checks items for soundness and condition.
2. Assembles orders for delivery based on requisitions; delivers supplies to appropriate locations; receives returned items and labels for storage.
3. Performs custodial duties in storeroom and adjacent premises; sweeps floors; disposes of rubbish from offices.
4. Washes and cleans van to maintain sanitary standards.
5. Completes paperwork for van repairs and services.
6. Assists in maintaining stock records; assists in regular inventories.
7. Exhibits patience, courtesy and tack then dealing with others.
8. Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members.
9. Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Manager whenever his/her duties and/or experience would be necessary to initiate, coordinate or complete any given program.
Standard large and small kitchen equipment and tools including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, sharp cutting tools, stove, oven, dishwasher, and food/utility cart
Posture:
Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stoop, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (15-50 pounds)
Environment:
Work inside in commercial kitchen environment; exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, extreme humidity, noise, vibration, microwaves, biological hazards (bacteria, mold, fungi), chemical hazards (fumes, vapors, gases), electrical hazards; work with hands in water; work around machinery with moving parts; work on slippery surfaces
