DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers and to transfers to store locations, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. This team member also assists in sales-related administrative and customer service activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct inspections of vehicle before departing to deliver merchandise. Loads product on to store delivery trucks for delivery and transfer. Maintains communications with management. Assists with unloading deliveries as needed. Review order details and deliveries and obtains customer signature on store copy of delivery ticket. Collects and organizes required paperwork for delivery and transfer activity. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the inside and outside of delivery vehicles. Performs routine safety checks on all company vehicles according to company guidelines. Assists in the lumberyard and warehouse with stocking, loading, and organizing materials. Assist customers in the lumberyard/warehouse with loading materials and product questions when not driving a delivery truck. Informs store management or personnel of any customer complaints or requests in a timely manner. Listens to and resolves service complaints Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the yard and warehouse by keeping ground free of clutter including bands, chocks and trash. Complies with all company safety standards. Follows company policies and procedures while carrying out the responsibilities. Attends all store meetings and training sessions. Complies with company Attendance policies Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Class A Driver's License Minimum 1 years' experience as CDL Delivery Driver and be able to meet the driver eligibility guidelines for the company. Ability to pass company driving test, background check and drug test Must be able to utilize company point-of-sale system, Microsoft Work & Excel, and other 3rd party software applications at a basic level Must successfully pass all Company training Must be detail oriented and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Enthusiasm, high energy and ability to work in a team. Must possess demonstrated ability to manage physical assets and perform physical work, including the ability to bend, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and be able to frequently lift and/or move between 50 - 100 pounds. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perfume these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must successfully pass all Company training regarding equipment usage, including obtaining forklift certification
WORK AVAILABILITY
Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 to 12 hours per day, at a minimum of 35 hours per week, or such other hours per day or weeks as management determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
