We are urgently hiring a reliable and motivated Mail Delivery Driver to join our team as an Independent Contractor. This is a long term position with a consistent daily route, perfect for someone who enjoys active work, independence and being done by early afternoon.
Position Details:
Schedule:
8am- 12:30 Monday to Saturday (There will be days when you finish earlier or might have to stay a little later) Load and deliver mail and packages to homes and businesses. Travel plans by foot and/or by car Collects outgoing mail along route, and when necessary, collect money for postage due Sorts mail, including packages according to delivery sequence. Obtain signatures on registered, insured mail and certified mail. Communicate with dispatcher/Postmaster and modifies route according to instructions when needed. Answers questions about USPS or company policies from customers along route Provide change of address cards and other postal forms. Training will be done on day of employment Must be at least 18 years of age with reliable vehicle Skills Organizational skills Attention to detail Efficiency Punctuality Physical stamina and strength Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy. Ability to read and understand English with degree of proficiency Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Depending on route, must be able to lift and carry heavy stacks of mail and walk long distances.
