Pompano Beach FL, Boynton Beach FL We're seeking an experienced and personable licensed Captain to join our growing fishing charter operation in Pompano Beach and Boynton Beach Florida. What We're Looking For:
USCG 6-pack Strong fishing knowledge — both offshore and inshore techniques Mechanically inclined — able to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance Excellent decision-making skills — capable of assessing weather and sea conditions to make safe calls (offshore, inshore, or reschedule) Great with people — upbeat, positive, and engaging with guests; safety-minded and professional
Duties:
Lead half-day and full-day fishing charters Engage and guide clients to ensure an exciting and safe experience Make weather-based decisions on trip viability Maintain vessel cleanliness and readiness Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems as needed Uphold the reputation of our business with excellent service
Requirements:
Valid USCG Captain's License CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain) Drug-free and part of a random drug testing consortium Professional appearance and demeanor Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Work Location:
In person Boat Captain to lead our customers and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for maritime activities. As a Boat Captain, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of boat operations, including navigation, maintenance, and customer management. Responsibilities Navigate and operate the vessel safely in various weather conditions. Manage customers by assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Conduct regular inspections of the boat's mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance. Oversee the rigging of equipment and ensure that all gear is properly secured. Maintain maintenance of vessel and it's cleanliness. Train customers on safety procedures and emergency response protocols. Communicate effectively with customers and owner to coordinate activities. Qualifications Proven experience as a Boat Captain or in a similar role within the maritime industry. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and manage vessel systems effectively. Ability to militarise operations for safety and efficiency during voyages. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse crew. Familiarity with navigation tools and equipment used in maritime operations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective coordination with crew and owner.
