Job Description

Short Description Offshore (MODU) - Gulf of America The 3rd Engineer assists the Chief Engineer by providing technical support and domestic/industrial services to all areas of the MODU. The role exercises effective control and efficient operation of the MODU power plant and machinery with attention to crew safety, environmental protection, and the safety of the MODU. Function Description Safety & Compliance Responsible for safety of the crew, the environment, and the engine room, as well as personal safety. Attends and participates in pre-tour, post-tour, and weekly safety meetings. Assists the Chief Engineer/Second Engineer to ensure safety critical equipment onboard the MODU is maintained and tested to company safety policies, standards, procedures, and Flag State Regulations. Watch standing / Engine Control Room (ECR) Responsible for the watch in the Engine Control Room. Supervises other personnel on watch to assure proper power distribution on the MODU. Fuel, Fluids & Transfers Responsible for bunkering and transferring fuel, water, and other fluids safely and efficiently. Maintenance, Housekeeping & Reliability Maintains order, cleanliness, and housekeeping at mechanical sites. Maintains mechanical equipment when required by the Chief Engineer/Second Engineer. Identifies opportunities to improve operational procedures and assists with procedure revisions and risk assessments Requirements Minimum of four (4) years working in the marine industry. 1-2 years of maritime experience as a 4th Engineer Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch. Completion of a degree from a recognized Maritime Academy or University. Completion of all training and certification requirements for the position as described in the training matrix.
