Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for several individuals to operate a pontoon boat to transport staff and other passengers across the Intracoastal Waterway at the South Island Ferry landing to and from the Tom Yawkey Wildlife Center. Candidate must have excellent boating skills and the ability to operate and dock boats in all weather conditions. Candidate must be willing to work variable shifts in the afternoons and weekends. Responsibilities Operate a 24-foot pontoon boat to travel approximately 300 feet between the mainland and island docks. Assist staff with the operation of the South Island Swing Bridge during shifts. Ensure boats are fueled and report any operational issues to supervisors. Qualifications Ability to safely operate a 24-foot pontoon boat across the Intracoastal Waterway while navigating strong currents in the channel. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet operational demands. Expected shifts will be from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday-Friday and 9:00 AM-9:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. Days worked each week can be variable.
