Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Class A CDL Driver/Equipment Operator to join our construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of heavy machinery and commercial vehicles, contributing directly to large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and a passion for safely executing demanding tasks on active job sites. Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, including dump trucks, water trucks, tankers, and other specialized vehicles to transport materials and equipment across construction sites. Skillfully operate heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, and loaders, to support various phases of construction projects. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with site preparation, material delivery, and removal by operating appropriate construction equipment like loaders and graders. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding equipment status, project progress, and safety concerns. Maintain accurate logs of vehicle usage, inspections, maintenance records, and job site activities. Skills Proven experience operating Class A CDL vehicles in a construction or heavy equipment environment. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with trucks and machinery. Hands-on experience with excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, tankers, paving equipment, and horizontal drilling machinery. Knowledge of construction site safety standards and procedures. Ability to read construction plans and understand technical instructions related to heavy equipment operation. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork on busy job sites. Valid CDL license with clean driving record; additional certifications such as OSHA or equipment-specific training are a plus.
