In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a 26-foot box truck while working alongside a delivery helper to complete residential deliveries throughout the assigned route. You will begin each day at our warehouse in Bessemer, Alabama at 5:00 AM, where you and your helper will load the truck with the freight needed for the day's deliveries. Drivers and helpers will typically complete 10-18 customer stops per day, delivering items directly to customers' homes while providing professional and courteous service. At the end of your route, you will return any customer returns and remaining freight to the Bessemer warehouse before completing your shift. A CDL is not required for this position. However, the driver must have a valid DOT-required medical examination/physical. If you do not currently have a DOT physical, we will provide one for you. All applicants must also be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screening. We are looking for dependable, safety-conscious drivers who are comfortable driving a larger box truck, working as part of a two-person delivery team, and providing excellent customer service. Duties Safely operate a 26-foot box truck while following all applicable traffic and safety regulations Arrive at the Bessemer, Alabama warehouse at 5:00 AM each workday Work with a delivery helper to load and organize freight onto the box truck Verify freight is properly loaded and secured before leaving the warehouse Follow assigned routes and use GPS/navigation systems to efficiently reach customer locations Complete approximately 10-18 residential delivery stops per dayWork alongside the delivery helper to safely deliver items into customers' homes Provide professional, courteous, and respectful customer service at every stop Carefully handle, load, unload, and transport customer freight to prevent damageObtain and complete any required delivery documentation or customer acknowledgments Communicate with dispatch/management regarding delivery issues, delays, damaged freight, or customer concerns Collect and properly secure customer returns throughout the route Return all required returns and remaining freight to the Bessemer warehouse at the end of each shift Maintain a clean and organized truck and delivery area Complete required vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns Follow all applicable DOT regulations and company safety policies Work cooperatively with the delivery helper to ensure routes are completed safely and efficiently Requirments CDL is NOT required Valid driver's license is required Must be able to successfully pass a DOT physical DOT physical provided by the company if needed Must successfully pass a background check Must successfully pass a drug screening Must have a safe driving record Must be dependable and punctual Must be comfortable operating a 26-foot box truck Must be able to safely lift, carry, load, and unload freight Must be comfortable working in customers' homes and providing professional customer service Must be able to work as part of a two-person delivery team Must be available for a 5:00 AM start time
