Job Description
Operates a yard dog and tractor/trailer in accordance with DOT and Company guidelines to move equipment between the yard and the dock. Moves finished goods or raw materials onto/from trucks, warehouse and/or pallets. Acts as a back-up Truck Driver for delivery function as needed, on an occasional basis.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates a yard dog and tractor/trailer in a safe and efficient manner to move equipment between the yard and dock for loading/unloading
- Completes all related paperwork
- Maintains daily checks and organization of the yard
- Performs regular equipment checks and completes related documentation and notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions
- Acts as a back-up Truck Driver on an occasional basis to handle short, local runs as needed
- Completes all related paperwork, including accurate driver logs to be submitted daily along with other trip sheets, fuel maintenance and delivery documentation
- Maintains current knowledge of, and complies with, CDL/DOT and Company/Plant requirements and standards
- Attends and participates in driver safety meetings
- Operates Forklift as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Must hold Class A CDL issued from only one state or jurisdiction
- Must have the ability to read and speak sufficient English to communicate with coworkers as well as drivers.
- Understand highway traffic signs and signals and make entries on reports/records
- At least 2 years of prior CDL driving experience with a good driving record
- High school or GED equivalent is preferred
- Familiarity with proper methods and procedures for securing cargo to be able to determine if cargo is properly located, distributed and secured
- Meets all other DOT standards and requirements
- Basic computer and/or data entry skills are preferred Other job-related duties as assigned.
