Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Roll-Off Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating roll-off trucks to transport and dispose of various types of cargo, including waste, recyclables, and other materials. Your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure efficient deliveries and pickups across assigned routes. This position offers an energetic environment where your driving skills and attention to detail will make a significant impact on our operations. Responsibilities Safely operate roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods, following hazardous materials regulations. Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and ensure timely deliveries and pickups across multiple locations. Perform routine inspections of trucks before and after trips to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards. Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment such as forklifts or crane attachments, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, load weights, and route logs in accordance with company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience driving tractor-trailers or dump trucks preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or logistics cargo handling. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks and equipment such as flatbeds or tanker trucks when necessary. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning on over-the-road routes. Strong manual handling skills for loading/unloading freight safely and efficiently. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service.
