Job Description
Lew Thompson & Son Trucking is seeking a Local Truck Driver for a dedicated route hauling refrigerated and live poultry freight. Based near Harrison, Arkansas, you'll run consistent local lanes with steady freight and regular home time. Operate late-model equipment, complete pre/post-trip inspections, and follow all DOT and company safety policies. You'll communicate closely with a supportive operations and dispatch team, ensure on-time pickups and deliveries, and provide professional service to major poultry producers while working in a family-oriented, safety-focused environment. Responsibilities Safely operate a commercial truck on dedicated local routes hauling refrigerated and live poultry loads Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required DOT documentation Ensure on-time pickup and delivery to regional poultry producers and facilities Secure and monitor temperature-controlled and live-haul freight according to company and customer standards Follow all DOT, safety, and company policies while maintaining a clean driving record Communicate with dispatch and operations for load details, schedule changes, and issues Perform basic truck and trailer checks, reporting maintenance needs promptly Provide professional, courteous service to customers and facility personnel Accurately complete logs, bills of lading, and delivery paperwork Support a safety-focused, family-oriented culture through reliable and consistent performance Required Skills CDL Class A truck driving Vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting Refrigerated (reefer) trailer operation Logbook/E-logs and DOT documentation Load securement and cargo handling Route planning and time management Knowledge of
