SANITATION OPERATOR I THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OPERATING AN AUTOMATED GARBAGE TRUCK ON ROUTES WITHIN THE CITY. GENERAL DUTIES
OPERATEGARBAGE, DUMP AND RECYCLING TRUCKS ON ASSIGNED ROUTES. INSPECT AND CHECK VEHICLES BEFORE USE IN ORDER TO ENSURE SAFE OPERATING CONDITIONS. PERFORM EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE TASKS. MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT IIN PROPER OPERATING CONDITION BY PERFORMING SIMPLE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE TASKS AND DETECT NEEDED AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRS. WORK OVERTIME AND IN EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OR THE ABILITY TO LEARN THE OPERATION OF THE TRUCK AS WELL AS GARBAGE ROUTES WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE POSITION REQUIRES FREQUENT AND REPEATED CLIMBING ON AND OFF THE EQUIPMENT. A CDL CLASS B LICENSE IS REQUIRED. SAFETY/SECURITY SENSITIVE DESIGNATION
