Job Description

Position Summary:
CDL Driver All Steel is seeking a professional CDL Driver to serve as the vital link between our fabrication shop and our project sites. This role is far more than just "hauling steel"—it is a position for a logistical expert who takes pride in the safe, timely, and organized delivery of our structural packages. The ideal candidate is a master of the road who understands load securement, excels at navigating tight job sites, and maintains our fleet with the same precision our shop applies to fabrication.
Key Responsibilities Regional Transport:
Safely operate Class A heavy-duty vehicles to deliver structural steel components from our Arkansas facility to various project sites.
Load Securement:
Expertly secure oversized and heavy steel loads using chains, binders, and straps, ensuring 100% compliance with DOT regulations and cargo safety.
Logistical Execution:
Coordinate with the shop foreman and site superintendents to ensure on-time arrivals and efficient offloading sequences.
Technical Inspections:
Conduct rigorous Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections (DVIR) to identify mechanical issues before they lead to downtime.
Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records, fuel receipts, and shipping manifests in accordance with FMCSA guidelines.
Equipment Care:
Perform routine cleaning and minor preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers to represent the All Steel brand professionally on the road.
Safety Advocacy:
Strictly adhere to all highway safety laws and job site PPE requirements, prioritizing the safety of the public and the crew at all times.
Qualifications Licensure:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record (MVR).
Experience:
2+ years of OTR or regional flatbed hauling experience (structural steel transport experience is a significant advantage).
Technical Skill:
Deep understanding of weight distribution, bridge laws, and specialized securement for irregular steel shapes.
Navigation & Planning:
Ability to plan routes that account for load height, weight restrictions, and delivery windows.
Physical Capability:
Ability to tarp loads, handle heavy chains/binders, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Reliability:
A "mission-first" mindset with a track record of punctuality and clear communication.
