SUMMARY:
The Hatchery - Chick Delivery Driver is responsible for loading and unloading chicks and deliver them safely to the farms from the Hatchery. The driver is responsible for ensuring chicks are delivered on a timely basis and are correctly placed in the grower's houses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to, the following: Complete truck inspection and fill out inspection sheet prior to leaving on the first load. Ensure truck is kept in good conditions, clean and fueled. Maintain work records, logs, timesheets, and trip reports. Monitor trailer environment to ensure chick comfort. Unload birds in such a way to ensure traceability once delivered. Follow all local, State and Federal DOT Regulations. Follow all Farm and Hatchery Biosecurity Principals. Follow Animal Welfare Guidelines and Company Policies. Other duties as assigned by supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have supervisory responsibility. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Required Current valid Class A - CDL license. Current valid medical certificate from an examiner on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. 2 years of verifiable driving experience with a Representative Vehicle; or 1 year of verifiable driving experience with a Representative Vehicle and a certificate of successful completion from reputable driving school program of at least 40 hours. Must meet requirements established by George's Fleet Safety Program, insurance company requirements and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMSCSR). Reading, writing and mathematical comprehension.
