Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, to transport freight across local, regional, and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Your expertise in navigating GPS systems, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, and managing hazardous materials will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers on designated routes. Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to safety standards. Transport various types of freight such as hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and temperature-sensitive items in refrigerated trailers. Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations during every trip. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and cargo handling activities in accordance with regulatory requirements. Load and unload cargo efficiently at delivery points while adhering to safety protocols. Manage over-the-road (OTR) driving routes across multiple states or regions with professionalism and reliability. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or route adjustments. Skills Proven experience driving commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers. Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Expertise in handling freight logistics cargo including load & unload procedures for various cargo types. Familiarity with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials (hazmat) handling requirements. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely. Experience with automobile transportation and delivery driving across diverse routes. Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to driver hours-of-service and safety compliance. Skilled in truck loading/unloading techniques for freight including dangerous goods or specialty cargo like flatbed or tanker loads. Excellent manual handling skills combined with physical stamina for long hours on the road. Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and clients.
