Summary:
As a Yard Driver, you will be responsible for safely moving trailers and containers around the yard to support daily warehouse and shipping operations.

This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $25.75 to $28.75 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $64,300 and $82,400 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
Responsibilities:
Move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and designated yard positions. Support loading and unloading operations by ensuring trailers are positioned accurately and on time. Perform pre
  • and post-inspections of yard trucks and report any maintenance or safety issues.
Maintain an organized and clean yard by staging equipment and clearing obstructions. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatches, and supervisors regarding trailer movements. Follow all yard safety rules, traffic patterns, and company procedures. Operate yard tractor, switcher, or hostler truck as assigned. May assist with basic warehouse tasks as required. Perform additional duties as required or requested.
Requirements:
Valid Class A Driver's License. Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience with heavy-duty vehicles. Comfortable with making local deliveries with multiple stops. Successful completion of driving test and all DOT pre-employment requirements. Safety-minded with proficiency in maintaining a legal and accurate logbook. Capable of understanding and interpreting bill of lading/picking sheets. Previous experience utilizing an iPad or tablet is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. This role has the following physical demands: Generate 137lbs of vertical push/pull force. Able to lift and transfer 55lbs. Able to carry at least 30lbs the length of the truck bed. Able to ascend and descend multiple-rung ladder. Able to frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch. Able to work at elevated height of 72" above the ground while assembling and disassembling strap, ties, ratchets, nuts, bolts, and other securing or fastening equipment. Able to work at lowered height of 6" above the ground while assembling and disassembling strap, ties, ratchets, nuts, bolts, and other securing or fastening equipment. This is a safety-sensitive position.
