In this role, you will operate specialized trucks designed for the delivery and pickup of hazardous gas cylinders, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help maintain our reputation for reliability and safety in the industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your driving skills while contributing to essential services that keep communities safe. Daily routes are primarily from Ceres,CA to the Bay Area. Driver is home daily. Duties Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles equipped for transporting hazardous materials, including flatbeds. Load and unload hazardous gas cylinders using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring secure placement and compliance with safety standards. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues before departure. Follow all federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous materials transportation, including proper documentation and safety procedures. Drive in a professional manner across diverse routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies to ensure timely deliveries. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to handle cylinders safely during loading or unloading processes. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, safety checks, and compliance documentation for each trip. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of commercial trucks. Perform daily pre-trip/ post-trip inspections required. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with heavy lifting is preferred. Knowledge of hazardous materials handling regulations (e.g., DOT/OSHA standards) related to Class B Hazmat transportation. Ability to load & unload cylinders efficiently while maintaining safety protocols. Familiarity with load securing techniques for various truck types including flatbed and roll-off containers. Physical capability to perform manual tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged periods of vehicle operation.
