What You'll Do:
Serve as a relief driver for regular Route Drivers, learning the specifics of various routes. Load and organize the truck by invoice to ensure route accuracy. Deliver and exchange cutlery to national and local restaurants, food service, and grocery customers. Handle program delivery and product sales, including can openers. Collect payments on invoices and ensure accurate daily cash reconciliation. Maintain correct inventory for all accounts, replacing worn knives and delivery boxes. Build and maintain strong customer relationships, addressing any service issues promptly. Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all regulations. Report any customer requests to cancel service due to pricing/competition to your supervisor immediately. Coordinate shipments to and from the sharpening center as needed.
Physical Requirements and Responsibilities:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly Capability to reach, twist, turn, bend, and pull Proficiency in climbing and navigating various terrains Capacity to sit and stand for extended periods Dexterity to load and unload delivery items safely Endurance for physical tasks throughout a 10-hour shift Compliance with safe driving techniques for company vehicles Maintain physical stamina to manage light-duty deliveries consistently Adherence to safety protocols while executing physically demanding tasks Ability to handle and operate handheld devices for delivery tracking and inventory management
