This role is perfect for motivated drivers who thrive on navigating over-the-road (OTR) routes, handling specialized cargo, and ensuring timely deliveries. As a Flatbed Driver, you will operate tractor-trailers equipped with flatbed trailers, delivering freight that requires careful manual handling and secure load management. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and commitment to excellent service will drive our success forward. Responsibilities Safely operate flatbed tractor-trailers on over-the-road routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo handling for logistics cargo and hazardous materials when applicable. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to reach delivery destinations on time while optimizing route planning for fuel efficiency and safety. Transport various types of freight including freight requiring specialized handling such as tanker or refrigerated trailers, ensuring the integrity of the cargo during transit. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to maintain optimal truck performance and safety standards. Document all deliveries accurately, including load & unload details, delivery receipts, and compliance with hazardous materials regulations if transporting dangerous goods. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in truck driving, including flatbed or specialized trailer hauling such as tanker or refrigerated trailers. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods transportation. Skilled in manual handling techniques for loading and unloading freight safely and efficiently. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently to follow over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Experience with logistics cargo handling, route driving, and delivery driving across diverse environments. Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and securing loads on flatbed trailers to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
