Refuse Site Attendant I:
$18.01-$19.70 Solid Waste Management is seeking a qualified candidate to fill one vacancy for the position of Refuse Site Attendant I. This position is classified as permanent part-time. To perform daily operational duties at Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority facility. These duties include the prompt opening and closing of the site; documentation, calculation and collection of fees, reconciling and making the deposits of the fees at the end of each work day. Detailed Work Activities Essential job duties may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbents(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
Minimum Qualifications Requires:
Graduation from high school or sufficient formal and/or informal education at a level necessary for successful performance of duties supplemented with course work in mathematics. Cash handling experience totaling at least three years in prior workplace(s). Possession of a valid California Driver's License. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to use digital measuring tape and do rapid calculations. Ability to control cash flow and make change. Ability to collect, secure and compile daily receipts. Ability to calculate, record and compile basic statistics pertaining to daily activities at Authority facilities. Ability to sweep, mop, clean and maintain Authority facilities and clean up trash and/or spills as needed. Ability to guide traffic and interact with general public in a clear and courteous manner. Assists with maintenance duties at all Authority properties. Refuse Site Attendant
II & III
Ability to assist in training of new hires.
Refuse Site Attendant III/Senior Refuse Site Attendant:
Ability to work weekend Assigned Standby (on-call) shifts.
MAY REQUIRE
Ability to work as much as ten or eleven hours per day in a job involving standing, twisting, and walking, for up to three consecutive days per week. Ability to communicate, follow procedures, and coordinate with other staff and personnel during an emergency.
Selection Process:

Condition of Employment:

Disaster Service Workers:
All County of Del Norte employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through State law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County of Del Norte requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Work related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
