Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). In this role, you will be the backbone of our logistics operations, responsible for safely transporting freight across long distances while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Your expertise in driving tractor-trailers, managing cargo, and navigating routes will ensure timely deliveries and uphold our commitment to safety and excellence. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road routes, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and fuel efficiency across diverse logistics cargo handling scenarios. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, or specialized cargo such as automobile transportation or tanker loads. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transit. Ensure proper securing of loads to prevent shifting or damage during transit while adhering to safety standards for hazardous materials and other sensitive freight. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving across long distances. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck loading/unloading. Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated units or flatbed configurations. Proficient in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks including load & unload procedures for freight such as hazardous goods or specialty cargo like tanker or automobile transport. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred. Capable of manual handling tasks related to freight management while maintaining safety standards at all times.
