Responsibilities Safely operate septic trucks equipped with tanks designed for waste collection and disposal, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Drive various types of trucks including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker units across assigned routes. Load and unload septic waste at designated disposal sites using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or hydraulic systems. Follow planned routes efficiently, managing time effectively to meet service schedules and customer expectations. Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety standards. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, including waste volumes transported, route details, and service records. Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delays, or vehicle issues to ensure smooth operations. Skills Proven experience in truck driving, especially with commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, or roll-off trucks. Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and proficiency in driving various truck types including dump trucks and tanker units. Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary. Familiarity with route driving best practices to optimize delivery times while maintaining safety. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and adherence to traffic laws and regulations. Physical capability to handle the demands of loading/unloading cargo and performing vehicle inspections regularly.
