You play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient yard by ensuring basic equipment maintenance, managing the delivery of parts and tools, and overseeing inventory control. This position supports operations by handling hand tools, heavy and light machinery maintenance, and operating yard vehicles such as forklifts and yard trucks. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Yardperson helps keep the yard organized and compliant with safety standards. Responsibilities Perform basic maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment Deliver parts and tools safely to and from the yard Manage and organize yard inventory Operate yard vehicles, including forklifts and yard trucks Ensure compliance with safety procedures and promote a safe work environment Maintain accurate records of tools, parts, and maintenance activities Keep the yard well-organized and free of hazards Required Qualifications Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Entry-level experience in equipment maintenance High school diploma or equivalent Basic mechanical repair skills Familiarity with inventory management Understanding of safety procedures Effective time management and communication skills
