Job Description

NEMT Driver Position -
Join Our Growing Team Compensation:
$17-$18/hour
Schedule:
Part-time positions available
Position Overview:
We're seeking dedicated, reliable drivers to join our new NEMT service. EMT certification is highly valued but not required. You'll play a vital role in helping patients access essential medical care by providing safe transportation, including gurney services.
Required Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with clean driving record (last 3 years) Must pass background check and drug screening Comfortable driving large passenger vans (Ford Transit 150 or similar) Physical ability to assist in lifting/transferring patients up to 250 lbs with partner (125 lbs per person) Ability to obtain necessary NEMT certifications Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic Strong communication and customer service skills CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain) Confidence maneuvering large vehicles in various weather conditions and urban environments
Preferred Qualifications:
EMT certification Previous experience in patient transport or medical settings Experience with gurney operations and patient transfers Experience in NEMT services Prior experience driving large vans or commercial vehicles
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments Operate and maneuver gurneys for patients up to 250 lbs Work effectively with partner for safe patient handling Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices Maintain accurate trip logs and documentation Keep vehicle clean and well-maintained Follow all safety protocols and transportation regulations Safely operate and maintain company vehicles
