General Class A Driver LaborerPOSITION SUMMARY A
large concrete construction company seeks general labor help from someone who also has a Class A License. Responsible for operating and maintaining various machines, load and unload frequently heavy materials, and follow directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen. You must have at least one year of experience driven vehicles that require a Class A license. You need to be physically fit, lift and carry objects over 80 pounds, reliable, a team player, able to work outdoors, and a fast learner. Driver may need to travel out of town/state for certain periods of time.LABORER/DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
- Help equipment operator, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
- Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
- Load or unload construction materials.
- Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
- Remove, fill, or compact material.
- Assist craft workers.
- Perform site clean-up.
- Adhere to Hour of Service regulations set by the Company and Federal government.
REQUIEMENTS
- Must have a valid Class A License.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Must be able to travel.
- Must posses a clean and safe driving record with a consistent and stable work history.
- Must have current a current DOT physical examination card.
- Must possess knowledge of all applicable DOT regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
- Must maintain a drug free environment.
- Must be forklift and bobcat certified.
- Must obtain DMV printout of H6 for interview.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employee required to remain on his or her feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time.
- Employee required to remain sitting in an upright position for continuous periods of time.
- Employee required to walk considerable distances in the facility and on job site.
- Employee required to raise or lower objects from one level to another regularly during the shift 50 to 100 pounds.
- Employee required, on a regular basis, to carry, push, and/or pull objects over 80 pounds.
- Employee regularly holding concrete pound pump hose for continuous periods of time.
- Employee must be ready to drive for long periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Typical assignments frequently require that work be completed outdoors in a variety of challenging weather conditions.
- Exposure to dirt and dust is routine and may require the use of protective clothing and respirators.
- Some jobs require an employee to work in an environment that involves exposure hazardous fumes and odors
- Employees are required to bend and reach for considerable periods and/or in confined spaces
- The job duties require an employee to work under stressful conditions
