Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Local Roll-Off Driver to join our dynamic waste management team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to efficiently collect and transport municipal and commercial waste materials. Your expertise in driving heavy-duty trucks, adherence to safety protocols, and commitment to excellent customer service will ensure smooth operations and uphold our reputation for reliable waste collection services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable community waste management while working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Safely operate roll-off trucks, including front loader, rear loader, and other commercial trucks, following all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load, transport, and unload waste materials from designated sites using appropriate mechanical equipment such as front-end loaders or roll-off containers. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to ensure mechanical integrity and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Follow established safety protocols during all operations, including handling hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, loads, and deliveries in accordance with state transportation regulations. Interact professionally with customers during pickups and drop-offs, providing excellent customer service while addressing any concerns or questions. Adhere to municipal waste management standards and ensure environmentally responsible disposal practices are followed. Skills Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as front loader, rear loader, or roll-off trucks in a commercial or municipal setting. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation rules governing commercial driving. Mechanical knowledge to perform routine truck inspections and basic troubleshooting. Skilled in safe driving techniques with defensive driving skills to prevent accidents and ensure safety on busy routes. Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual lifting tasks regularly. Excellent customer service skills with professional communication abilities. Outdoor work experience with the stamina to work in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
